Resident Evil’s History In 90 Seconds [VIDEO]

Resident Evil (or Biohazard in Japan) celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year. It’s been two decades since we first went to the mansion on the PS1?!

As there’re no games for us to play for celebration (Umbrella Corps doesn’t count: it’s not only a spin-off but a meh quality one at that), Capcom decided to create a short recap of the franchise featuring the numbered installments. 1 from 1996, 2 from 1998 (the original concept, dubbed 1.5, was scrapped), 3 from 1999 (although it wasn’t meant to be RE3!) from the PS1 era. Then, 0 from 2002, the first game’s remaster on Gamecube from the same year, 4 from 2005 (this game had multiple scrapped versions). The previous console generation had 5 in 2009, and 6 in 2012, respectively. The story continues in January: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will arrive with full PlayStation VR-support. However, the spin-offs and non-numbered games were not shown in the trailer below. (Where’s Code Veronica? That’s a great game…)

Hopefully, 7’s final version will not remind us of P.T. as much as the teaser did in June.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
