“It’s hard to say for sure.” It would be fantastic news for inZOI fans, but the creators of the Sims rival aren’t committing to a Nintendo Switch 2 launch just yet. Director Hyungjun ‘Kjun’ Kim reminded players that his life simulator “requires relatively high specifications,” and the hybrid console’s exact specs remain unknown.
Following its early access debut in March, inZOI quickly captured the hearts of life simulation fans. While Krafton’s team is currently focused on polishing gameplay and adding new content for its community, they are also thinking ahead about expanding beyond PC. With ports for PS5 and Xbox Series on the table, developers are still hesitant about a Switch 2 version due to technical limitations.
inZOI had a spectacular launch but struggled to maintain momentum
Hyungjun ‘Kjun’ Kim, director of inZOI, shared his thoughts during an interview with Videogamer. When asked about a potential release on Switch 2, he said: “it’s difficult to say with certainty given that we still don’t know the exact hardware specifications of Nintendo Switch 2.” Kim pointed out: “rumors suggest it could have performance comparable to an RTX 2050.” He added: “since inZOI currently demands relatively high specs, it might be difficult to run the game on Switch 2 in its current form.”
Nevertheless, Krafton is committed to making the life simulator available on as many platforms as possible. “We are preparing to bring inZOI to multiple platforms, and if optimization for Switch 2 based on its performance is feasible, we view it as a great opportunity to reach even more players,” Kim concluded. Ultimately, the Switch 2’s final specs will determine whether inZOI will land on Nintendo’s upcoming console.
inZOI enjoyed an explosive start in 2025, becoming one of the year’s most anticipated releases. After launch, it sold over a million copies and recorded more than 85,000 concurrent players on Steam. However, that number has since dropped to just over 4,500. With more updates planned, Krafton hopes to win back players as new features are rolled out.
