Video games are adapted more and more into movies, but other mediums are seldom used – especially with games, which don’t have a human protagonist, just machines, like tanks in World of Tanks. Still, Dark Horse Comics now picks up another game-to-comic adaptation.

Another one indeed – recently we have heard that Blizzard assigned them to work on Overwatch comics, but their next upcoming project might feel awkward at first sight.

They will also make World of Tanks comics. It will feature a brand new storyline, which will look at World War II from different aspects on both sides in World of Tanks: Roll Out!, which is set to launch each month.

The first book will be out on August 30, so you don’t even have to wait for that much to see the beginnings. The game’s developer Wargaming and Dark Horse Comics have Eisner Award-winning writer Garth Ennis and Judge Dredd co-creator and artist Carlos Ezquerra on Roll Out!.

For a short period, World of Tanks will have a nod to its comic adaptation, as it will feature a playable Snakebite tank on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
