A Veteran Art Director Leaves Square Enix!

After 24 years of work, Yusuke Naora decided to leave Square Enix.

Naora was one of the key art members behind Final Fantasy. He was the field graphic designer of VI, art director of VII, VII, X, Before Crisis: FFVII, FFVII: Advent Children, Type-0, and XV. He also acted as CG art supervisor of XI, art supervisor of Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII, and Crisis Core: FFVII. That is a large list, and we can still list a few: Chrono Trigger, Vagrant Story, The Bouncer, The Last Remnant, just to name a few…

45-years-old Naora will not quit work just yet: he’s going to be independent, and if needed, he will work for Square Enix again. The company rewarded its veteran ex-employee, too: the director of Final Fantasy XV, Hajime Tabata, has shown him the ending of the game.

After Naora‘s departure, we’ll definitely see a change in the art direction of future Final Fantasy games.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
