Uncharted Movie Shows Signs Of Life!

MOVIE NEWS – Finally! Sony’s Uncharted film adaptation, which has been in limbo for years now, has a director.

The directorial seat has been a merry-go-round – many people have sat on it, but it seems Sony Pictures has had enough of standing still with this project. (Mind you, Uncharted’s game-to-cinema move was announced no less than SEVEN YEARS ago…)

According to Deadline, Shawn Levy is the director, joining another guy (Joe Carnahan, the script writer) in the credits list.

Levy has been executive producing, directing episodes of the Netflix breakout series Stranger Things, which he’ll continue to direct in Season 2. He also produced the upcoming Denis Villenueve-directed Arrival. He can now work together with Avi Arad (mainly Marvel-movies), Alex Gartner (Warcraft), and Charles Roven (The Dark Knight trilogy) to hopefully get Nathan Drake out to the cinemas worldwide…
