Is Assassin’s Creed Heading To VR?

A portfolio leak says it all.

Ubisoft is the only major publisher that considers virtual reality way more serious than its competitors. Matt Stenquist’s portfolio could underline this statement – however, we will not link it, as he seems to have removed the image below. The internet doesn’t forget, though!

The French company could be working on an Assassin’s Creed VR game, as Stenquist (who’s a UI/UX designer) made a title screen, the main menu, and some communicational icons for multiplayer purposes. He admitted to using Unreal Engine 4, and the project would be running on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

If Ubisoft is still working on this VR project, we find it unlikely to see it skip the PlayStation VR, unless Assassin’s Creed VR requires room-scale virtual reality, which is unsupported by Sony’s device. If that is the case, developing it for PC only would make much more sense…

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
