PlayStation 4 Firmware 4.50 To Launch Today?

It’s possible that the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation VR will receive the big system software update today.

On the PlayStation VR subreddit, an email surfaced that a user received from PlayStation‘s customer support. In it, it’s mentioned that the PlayStation 4 4.50 firmware update would arrive „tomorrow,” and with it, a patch would also drop for the PlayStation VR to upgrade its system software to 2.40. However, Matthew doesn’t know what the patch contains outside supporting 3D Blu-Ray discs.

The Sasuke-codenamed 4.50 PlayStation 4 firmware is already on a few lucky user’s consoles, as they were chosen to beta test the system software before its full launch. This update brings a Boost mode for the PlayStation 4 Pro, but the basic model isn’t ignored, either: external HDD support, wallpapers, simplified notifications are included.
