NieR: Automata: „Meaningful” DLCs Are Unlikely

The game’s director talked about the future of NieR: Automata.

Yoko Taro attended PAX East, where he held a Q&A session. Here, he said that there’s not as a lot of chance of meaningful DLCs happening, as he lacks the budget and manpower to pull them off, even though NieR: Automata‘s producer, Yosuke Saito has expressed that he would work on them.

Drakengard also got mentioned – mind you, NieR games are spin-offs of the series. Yoko Taro said that a lot of people have expressed their opinion regarding the series, and he asked the fans to contact Square Enix to make a Drakengard Collection on the PlayStation 4 happen. He would create them, but he cannot do it alone.

It’s interesting how PlatinumGames‘ (quite good) game is successful, but without the chance of it seeing any expansion. Have we seen this event happening recently?
