One Country Will Not Receive Outlast 2

We still see games getting banned from certain countries for various reasons.

In a ruling issued on March 15, the Australian government’s Classification Board stated that Outlast 2, due to launch on April 25 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, was identified to „depict, express or otherwise deal with matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that they offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults to the extent that Outlast 2 should not be classified.”

Outlast 2‘s demo in September already received the highest rating, R18+ (which was introduced in 2013), and it could be getting this rating with the final version „without the depiction of implied sexual violence,” Kotaku Australia reports.

The Australians already pay way more money for games than those who live in the European or North American regions, and now they also have to see games banned. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, Postal 1-2, a Syndicate, and Risen – just to name a few – are still banned in Australia!
