Call Of Duty WWII Will Have Interesting Inspirations

This year’s Call of Duty will change a few things around the campaign.

Sledgehammer takes the franchise back to World War II this year. Their senior creative director, Bret Robbins talked to Glixel, where he said that the plot will be character-focused and that he wasn’t inspired by games you’d think of when you hear the name Call of Duty. No joke, he admitted that he was inspired by walking simulators, namely Grow Home, Virginia, and Firewatch.

Sledgehammer’s co-founder and general manager, Glen Schofield added that WWII would not go for cutscenes with the plot, and instead, they will roll the story forward in-game, as it has more personality than simple videos in his opinion.

Let’s hope that Call of Duty: WWII, out on November 3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, will not become something like Call of Dear Esther, although that name sounds good…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
