Phil Spencer is Politey Dissing Rivals’ Big Games

He spoke to The Guardian, where he brought up the current situation of the gaming industry.

„The audience for those big story-driven games… I won’t say it isn’t as large, but they’re not as consistent [as before]. You’ll have things like Zelda or Horizon Zero Dawn that’ll come out, and they’ll do well, but they don’t have the same impact that they used to have because the big service-based [like Destiny or The Division – the editor] games are capturing such a large amount of the audience. Sony’s first-party studios do a lot of these games, and they’re good at them, but outside of that, it’s difficult – they become rarer; it’s a difficult business decision for those teams, you’re fighting into more headwind,” he said.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
