Is Nintendo Rushing The Switch Games’ Development?

Rushing developers to make their games available as soon as possible?

Asia Nikkei reported that Nintendo has asked an unnamed third-party developer to hurry up (!) the game development and release their major titles available on the Nintendo Switch as soon as possible to keep up the momentum for the new N platform. We don’t know who these are, but seeing it’s Asia Nikkei, it could very well be a Japanese third-party developer, and we wouldn’t like to guess.

The Wii U’s situation might repeat: the first-party games arrive at a steady pace (and they mostly receive positive reviews, although Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s online isn’t the best…), but the third-party games don’t seem to keep up that pace.

Rushing development is not the smartest idea: if those games are hurried out the door, the Switch port (if these are multiplatform games) might be terrible, which would put Nintendo into a negative light as well.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
