The Legend Of Zelda: Heading To Smartphones?

Nintendo seems to plan moving one of its franchises to smartphones.

Wall Street Journal reported that Nintendo and DeNA are planning to make Link and the others available on iOS and Android. After Miitomo, Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, and Animal Crossing (which is slated to launch in the first half of 2017), The Legend of Zelda could be the next smartphone Nintendo title.

The initial steps into the market have not been successful for the big N: in the previous fiscal year, Nintendo barely gained 176.4 million dollars, and their president, Tatsumi Kimishima, said that they want to expand the mobile line-up to reap more profits from this scene of gaming, so to speak. It’s remaining a mystery to see how the pricing will go: Super Mario Run has a free demo, while the full version costs 10 dollars, while other apps offer in-app purchases (or microtransactions, if you prefer).

Perhaps the developers will reveal their plans during the E3 edition of Nintendo Direct, as both Nintendo and DeNA refused to comment. (What a surprise…)

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
