The Witcher Goes to Netflix!

MOVIE NEWS – Geralt’s adventures will come „alive” shortly.

Platige announced that Andrzej Sapkowski’s eight books would be used by Netflix for a TV-series. This time around, the author will not ask to get paid in advance as he did before CD Projekt RED launched the first game a decade ago, as he is going to be a creative consultant on the project. Clever move: he’s now getting more control, as well as cash.

Quoting the announcement, „Sean Daniel (The Mummy franchise, Ben-Hur, The Expanse) and Jason Brown (The Expanse), partners at the Sean Daniel Company are executive producers, along with Tomek Baginski (Oscar-nominated short The Cathedral, BAFTA-winning The Fallen Art, Ambition) and Jarek Sawko (The Fallen Art, Another Day of Life) from Platige Image, the Polish production and visual effects company. Bagiński will also direct at least one episode of each season.”

Well, this announcement might see Netflix gain a few subscribers…
