Is Blizzard Working On a Diablo II And Warcraft 3 Remaster?

After applying a facelift to the first Starcraft, Diablo II, and Warcraft III might be up next.

Blizzard announced Starcraft: Remastered in March, and they also made the original version along with the Brood War expansion completely free (while making the two versions support each other in multiplayer!). However, it looks like 2000’s Diablo II might be getting a similar treatment, and Warcraft III, made in 2002, might follow suit.

Blizzard has a job listing for a lead (engine) software engineer. Quoting the job listing: „Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation. We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done.” The responsibilities part also mentions „implement, maintain, and own infrastructure for the Diablo franchise.”

Blizzard is caught red handed.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
