Hopefully, you did not forget about the Chris Redfield DLC!
On Reddit, the results of some datamining and leaks have surfaced in the promised free DLC that we haven’t seen since its announcement. Major spoilers are following regarding this Chris Redfield subplot. You have been warned!
„Not a Hero will begin immediately after the ending of Resident Evil 7; the first scene will be in a first-person perspective of the player taking control of Redfield and in this scene you will be able to see Ethan Winters’ full body including face. Ethan’s face has not been completely shown in the game. Upon Ethan being rescued, Redfield, along with a group of Umbrella soldiers will proceed to enter the Baker’s residence. Upon entering the residence, Redfield will tell the soldiers to split up to look for the whereabouts of Lucas Baker. While venturing out further into the home of the Bakers, Redfield’s soldiers will begin to call over the radio and sounds of choking and screaming can be heard. At this point you will encounter your first “White molded” these monsters are responsible for creating the toxic gas, killing one will make an area “clear” of any fumes. If normal molded are in contact with these fumes, they will become enraged with greater attack power, speed, and health. Killing the white molded will immediately cease the toxic fumes.
Once you kill your first white molded, Lucas Baker will be on the radio full aware of your intentions to find him, and thus this will trigger a scene in which you partake in his games (much how you did when Ethan got caught up). For every Lucas game, you pass he rewards you with a piece of “evidence” that will not only lead up to his location, but it will be information on who he has been working for and why. This info will tell you exactly why the Bakers were targeted. There is more to Jack Baker than you know. And there is a reason as to why he relocated his family in the middle of nowhere.
Not a Hero‘s story line will fit if you chose to save Zoe in the original story line of RE7. Much how she helped Ethan, she will be helping Redfield, and she does get captured by Lucas, and she changes once you try to rescue her prompting a boss battle against Zoe. Lucas Baker does not die in this DLC. However, he will sustain damage to where you do see him semi-mutate into what he is. The ending of Not a Hero will prompt as to what awaits in Resident Evil 8, and any and all questions will come to light in the final sequence,” the post reads.
Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition, including the Not A Hero DLC, will launch on December 12 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. There will be a Resident Evil 8 too, it seems…
