Tomb Raider’s director leaves Crystal Dynamics

He leaves the company with gratitude: “People should be moved by what is to come.”

Last year, veteran Ian Milham joined Crystal Dynamics as the creative director for Tomb Raider. By the end of 2015, the studio has released a terrific Rise of the Tomb Raider, but this relationship has been ephemeral for the new game director. Milham has announced his departure, although it seems that there have been no bad rolls in between. “People should be excited about what is coming,” says the creative. It has not given more clues on what is done in Crystal Dynamics right now, although there are already those who believe that it is “Shadow of the Tomb Raider”.

Now, Milham will work at Outpost Games, where he will share work with coworkers from the recently closed Visceral Games. There, he was working on the Dead Space franchise. While well received by critics and fans, EA wasn’t thrilled that much by the franchise’s sales.
