PlayStation 5, New Xbox: „A Minimum Of Two Years” Until They Might Arrive, According To Ubisoft

Ubisoft‘s CEO, Yves Guillemot, believes that we shouldn’t expect the next generation consoles’ launch next year.

GameSpot reported about a financial earnings call, where Guillemot has said the following: „As Sony launched PlayStation 4 Pro last year and Microsoft Xbox One X this year, we think we still have a minimum of two years in front of us before something new is coming, but that’s our perception, we don’t have any confidential information on that front.

We like the fact that Sony and Microsoft are putting more power in their machines, using the evolution of technology to give power to our developers to create better games for our players. That is going in the right direction rather than trying to do accessories or other things. That is going to help the industry a lot because the games will be really beautiful on those machines.”

So, Guillemot believes that the next PlayStation (which will be a new-gen hardware), and the new Xbox (which might be a mobile phone-like update only…) could launch in 2020. As we can see strong PlayStation 4 games even in 2019 (Ghost of Tsushima), he might be right about the subject.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
