PlayStation 5: Will It Get Its Event For A Release Date Announcement?

The PlayStation 4 Pro is just a mid-generation half step ahead – Sony is working on the next console at this point.

Express.co.uk writes about when the next member of the PlayStation family could be announced, although it’s hard to guess when the PlayStation 5 might arrive, as both Sony and Microsoft have good sales for the PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X.

Macquarie Capital Securities’ analyst, Damian Thong, thinks that Sony might announce its next console this year. He was previously correct about the PlayStation 4 Pro and the PlayStation 4 Slim so that he might have good sources. If this is true, the Japanese company could take attention away from both the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox One X. Delaying could be another reasonable thing, as Sony would then be able to make the PlayStation 4 Pro the default console, and the PlayStation 5 would follow in either 2020 or 2021.

A few features that people easily back might help the sales – for example, the support of PlayStation 4 games! Previously, Michael Pachter, Wedbush Securities’ analyst said that he believes Sony would build a console that is compatible with the PlayStation 4 Pro.

We’ll see.
