Shenmue III Gets Another Delay!

Are the others escaping from Red Dead Redemption 2?

Think about it – yesterday, we wrote about how Metro Exodus was pushed from 2018 autumn to Q1 2019. When will Red Dead Redemption 2 launch? At the end of October. A few games did not get delayed because of it but instead, moved ahead with their release dates – we think that Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII’s October 12 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s September 14 release date are intentional.

Shenmue III backs out from Rockstar’s game – Deep Silver announced that the game’s 2018 H2 release window was pushed back to 2019. „The extra time will be used to polish the quality of the game even further, to the high standards it deserves and release the product in the best possible timeframe,” Deep Silver says. The last part of the sentence feels like a reference to Red Dead Redemption 2…

On Kickstarter, Yu Suzuki, Shenmue’s father also commented: „To all of our backers, we are very sorry for the delay. After much discussion with our partners, Deep Silver, we have concluded that extending the release will allow us to deliver Shenmue III at its best. We promise to use this time to improve the quality of Shenmue III.”

Shenmue III will launch in 2019 on PlayStation 4 and PC, but until then, I & II will likely be out in August, and these would also be available on the Xbox One, too.
