David Cage Would Work On A Narrative Multiplayer Game, Too!

Quantic Dream‘s head revealed a few of his ideas.

In a Reddit Ask Me Anything, Cage, whose latest game, Detroit: Become Human, launched a month ago on PlayStation 4, answered a few questions. He also said that although Quantic Dream doesn’t tend to work on sequels, they might be doing DLC, or even a full sequel, for Detroit: „We will work on a sequel if we feel we have ideas, passion and excitement to do it, and if we feel we have something more to say about this world. We have a lot of respect for our fans, and we never wanted to do sequels just for the sake of making easy money. We are driven by passion more than anything, although it is not always something reasonable… but we enjoyed working on Detroit a lot, and many exciting stories could be told in this world for sure.

There are so many characters in the game that could have a DLC about their backstories that it may be difficult to choose one… I wrote backstories for almost all the characters in the game, so I have a pretty good idea of what happened to them before the game started… But between people wanting an investigation about Connor, a full sequel and DLC about all characters, we will need to make a choice,” Cage wrote.

He added that if he could get the attention of a publisher, he would also try to create a narrative-based multiplayer title, too: „I am very interested in creating a narrative multiplayer game for a long time. There are some creative and technical challenges to overcome, and you need the right story to tell, but this is something fascinating… Convincing publishers of trying it is another challenge, but this is something I would like to try shortly.”

So, the French team will likely expand the world of Detroit: Become Human, if we can believe Cage. Still, it’d be interesting to see what multiplayer title could Quantic Dream do. It’d be far different from their older titles!

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
