Somehow we felt that Overkill‘s (previously working on Payday) The Walking Dead isn’t going to keep the originally set release date.
And still, one platform manages to keep the initial launch day. So far, the plan was that 505 Games/Starbreeze would launch The Walking Dead with its four-player, cooperative gameplay on November 6 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Well, Starbreeze‘s announcement says the PC version sticks with the November 6 date, but the console versions are pushed to February!
Quoting the important part of the press release: „505 Games, which owns the publishing rights to the console version of Overkill’s The Walking Dead, has decided to release the console version of the game in February instead of November, as previously planned. They have opted to do this because they want to ensure a simultaneous release of the console version digitally and in stores to achieve optimal marketing impact and maximise sales. […]”
So the game gets delayed… on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The console versions will launch in February while the PC version will be available from November 6.
