An Open-World Harry Potter Action-RPG Is In Development! [VIDEO]

The surprises rack up by the possible developer, too…

A video surfaced on Reddit, saying it was recorded at a focus test (where it’s usually strictly forbidden to create videos). On Gematsu, the press release has mostly been leaked as well. We learned a few things about the game that has no title yet.

„Set in the 19th Century (the 1800s) Wizarding World, this third-person open-world action RPG game centres around your character with unique abilities who has earned a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You are a newly arrived fifth-year student to Hogwarts that demonstrates a latent gift for magic with a unique ability to track and identify remnants of a pottant ancient power. Upon arrival, strange events begin to materialise In the Forbidden Forrest and trouble begins to brew within the castle walls. Together with Professor Elezar Fig, you embark on a journey through both familiar and never before seen locations to bring to light the truth behind these mysterious occurrences. On your quest you will craft potions, master new spells […],” the press release says. We could become one of eight wizard types in this game.

Warner looked for senior writers in April 2017 „with a deep understanding of British culture and grammatical presentation” for Avalanche Studios, and Eurogamer also reports that the game could be called Harry Potter Magic Awakened or Harry Potter Magic Forever.

Something big is in development… although it’s not announced yet.
