How Did Bungie Employees React To The Activision Split?

The week’s one of the surprising news was that Bungie is leaving Activision Blizzard, taking Destiny‘s publishing rights with them.

Kotaku reported about how one of the biggest independent developer teams reacted to getting out of the grasp of one of the significant publishers without much harm. We already knew that Bungie‘s and Activision‘s relationship was strained, but if we quote Kotaku’s report, things will step up another level: „Bungie told employees during a team meeting this afternoon, framing it as fantastic news for a studio that has long grown sick of dealing with its publisher. Employees cheered and popped champagne, according to one person who was there.”

It’s unbelievable how the developers had had enough of the publisher to this extent… Still, according to reports, Bungie plans to release Destiny 3 in 2020, which means it might be a next-gen title.
