Is The Nintendo Switch Taking A VR Turn This Year?

Nintendo World Report claims the big N is planning to return to virtual reality (VirtualBoy, remember that?) in 2019 with the Nintendo Switch.

„A small, select number of traditional first-party software titles,” might be receiving VR support, and it would happen „in the not-so-distant future” according to the site. Nintendo is rumoured to enter the VR-market with the Labo brand, and seeing that name, it’s possible that it would be a carton paper VR glasses, as Labo has products in such material… (and previously, we have seen others try something similar: Google Cardboard!)

In 2017, Nintendo’s previous president, Tatsumi Kimishima said that they are looking into pairing up VR with the Nintendo Switch, but it has to provide „play for hours on end without problems.” In last October, Reggie Fils-Aime, the American Nintendo president, said that they have been experimenting with virtual reality, but it has to be fun or it wouldn’t be implemented.

We might see a VR-announcement in June, during Nintendo’s E3 Direct…
