The classic Soul Reaver turns 20 – a legendary video game!

Amy Henning, author of Uncharted, does not forget one of her most beloved works.

A Crystal Dynamics is known today for his work in the Tomb Raider series or the anticipated Marvel’s Avengers, but are also responsible for the legendary Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, a video game who just turned 20 years.

“I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since we released Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver,” wrote veteran Amy Henning, director and screenwriter of this classic, and also one of the main leaders of the successful Uncharted series. “This game occupies a very special place in my heart,” adds the creative.

As we tell you in our retro memories of Soul Reaver, Raziel’s adventure took us to the dark world of Nosgoth, where Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain was previously inspired by Silicon Knight’s missing team. The video game of Amy Henning and Seth Carus opted to tell a story of great quality, with a play structure inspired by the Metroidvania that confronts the hero of the action against his former vampire brothers.

Soul Reaver had several sequels but despite the rumours of the return of Soul Reaver, since 2003 with Legacy of Kain: Defiance there has not been a new chapter of the main saga, apart from the failed multiplayer action game Nosgoth, which ended up closing their servers.
