Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Just Days Away From Steam

Red Dead Redemption 2Rockstar Games‘ Western adventures’ PC port is not going to avoid Valve’s digital storefront.

Until now, Red Dead Redemption 2 was only available via Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic Games Store, Greenman Gaming, Humble Store, GameStop, and other digital retailers – in other words, it’s been available almost everywhere EXCEPT Steam. (We’re not talking about the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One versions – the game first launched on consoles in the Fall of 2018.)

Until now – Rockstar Games’ Twitter post was to the point by saying „Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC is coming to Steam on December 5.”

We’re probably going to see a similar solution that Ubisoft’s previous Steam games (as they recently tend to go exclusive on the Epic Games Store) and the upcoming Electronic Arts ones, meaning the game will need the publisher’s proprietary launcher, like how Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order requires Origin to run.

Let’s remind ourselves of the minimum and the recommended system requirements:

Minimum system requirements:

  •        Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  •        OS: Windows 7 – Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601)
  •        Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K / AMD FX-6300
  •        Memory: 8 GB RAM
  •        Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB / AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB
  •        Network: Broadband Internet connection
  •        Storage: 150 GB available space
  •        Sound Card: Direct X Compatible

Recommended system requirements:

  •        Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  •        OS: Windows 10 – April 2018 Update (v1803)
  •        Processor: Intel Core i7-4770K / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
  •        Memory: 12 GB RAM
  •        Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB
  •        Network: Broadband Internet connection
  •        Storage: 150 GB available space
  •        Sound Card: Direct X Compatible

So look for Red Dead Redemption 2 on Steam from Thursday. The game thus only had a one-month delay on Steam. Price? 60 dollars.
