Quantic Dream Is Accused Of Intimidation

The air is hot around the French studio – David Cage’s team has no „free” moment.

Quantic Dream is suing an industrial union called Solidaires Informatique Jeu Video (which we shorten to SIJV from now). SIJV confirmed this on Twitter, and they also published a statement in both French and English. Let’s see what they said: „On May 7, 2019, we jointly published with Game Workers Unite a call for testimonies after being informed of the probable existence of sexual violence committed against employees of the company   Quantic Dream.   As unfortunately very often in this kind of case, we now learn that we are attacked in defamation.

We are not surprised by this attack, in an industry that has only 14% of women in its workforce and where sexism and male complicity seem to be the norm. Neither threats nor patriarchal justice will make us back down; we will follow through on our commitments against sexual and gender-based violence and we will put the full weight of our union in this fight.

In situations of sexual violence in the workplace, the majority of victims remain silent, as the study by the Defender of Rights shows. Our role is to assist the defence of these women who for fear muzzle their speech. In this context, we analyze this complaint against a call for testimony as a new attempt to silence potential victims.

We will not, therefore, withdraw our call for testimony, on the contrary, we call on all the victims to contact us and join us, to break the silence and launch the offensive against the perpetrators of this violence. This complaint will not impress us, we are organized to fight. Solidaires Informatique will continue to give its full support to victims of sexual and gender-based violence and will always be by their side to defend them.”

And we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. We have no idea when the company, which recently got cash from Tencent, has ambitions to be self-publishing and independent, will get a so-called break.
