The Battlefield of 2021 advances at full speed despite the difficulties of the coronavirus

The conditions of teleworking do not prevent DICE from complying with the development of the game.

In recent weeks, we were commenting that Swedish studio DICE is ending content updates for its major online games, Battlefield V and Star Wars: Battlefront 2, to focus on developing its next title: a Battlefield game to come. somewhere in 2021. It is still early to know its release date, but if you are concerned that the coronavirus may cause delays, take a deep breath: EA says that the development of the game is progressing “very, very well.”

This was confirmed by Andrew Wilson himself, president of the North American company, during his last meeting with investors. The executive is also pleased with the adaptability of the development studio: “We are excited with what the team is doing. And again, when it comes to telework conditions, they have been an inspiration to continue developing great entertainment material for the Battlefield universe. ”

As you can see, his words refer to everything Battlefield – including the latest BFV events and updates – and not specifically to the next video game, although we can assume that he also takes this title into account in the equation.

For now, we will have to settle for a very open launch window, although illustratively we remind you that Battlefield V went on sale on November 20; and Battlefield 1 on October 21. With the exception of Battlefield: Hardline, the saga usually visits stores in the fall. On the other hand, it is expected that the game will be announced in the coming weeks, in a parallel event to the canceled E3 2020.
