Sony Pictures Denies Tom Holland: the Uncharted Movie Hasn’t Started Filming Yet

MOVIE NEWS – The actor published a message on Instagram yesterday about the Uncharted movie that hinted at the start of production.

It seemed that the Uncharted movie was finally going to start, but that was not the case. Just yesterday, actor Tom Holland published an image with a message that implied the start of filming for this project. However, the reality is very different, and Sony Pictures has denied the publication of its star to point out that the filming of the film has not yet started.

In an official statement for GamesRadar +, a representative of the Sony production company has clarified that the Uncharted film has not yet started filming, unlike what the actor Nathan Drake might indicate. However, Sony Pictures adds that the filming team is currently immersed in its preparations, and that “we hope to start shooting soon”, which is still good news for the health of the project.

Not surprisingly, the Uncharted film project has been surrounded by trouble since its inception, with numerous director changes, and when it finally closed its plans to start filming in March, the coronavirus virus outbreak occurred. This outbreak led its production company to delay the release date until October 2021, although after evaluating the evolution of the situation, its launch has been advanced by several months, for the summer of 2021.

The movie Uncharted will hit theatres on July 16, 2021, if everything goes according to plan. A project that will feature Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland) as director, and Tom Holland in his leading role. Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan also participates, along with some actors of the stature of Antonio Banderas. If you want to go deeper into the background of the project, take a look at the analysis of Uncharted 4, and do not hesitate to review all the titles of the Uncharted universe.
