Phil Spencer Talked About Delaying Halo Infinite

“It’s a bummer, but it’s the right decision.” Xbox boss Phil Spencer said when he apologized to fans for the delay of Halo Infinite.

A couple of days ago the surprise jumped: Halo Infinite is delayed to 2021 and the premiere of Xbox Series X has lost one of it’s biggest games. While this is always a hard thing to digest, most Halo and Xbox fans were sympathetic. In the end, the game had better turn out in the best possible way. Of course, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, knows that the news is a jug of cold water for many of the followers and has apologized.

Spencer was on GaryWhitta’s show on Twitch, where he interviews big names using Animal Crossing: New Horizons. “Let me start by acknowledging the fact that this is a bummer,” commented Phil Spencer, who went on to say that “it’s disappointing for people and it ‘s disappointing for us.” Spencer further emphasized that they were looking forward to the joint launch of Halo Infinite and Xbox Series X.

But the top Xbox president defends his decision: “I think we are making the right decision, both for Xbox and Halo, and for our customers.” Spencer recounted how difficult it was to take this path, but that they could not choose another because both he and the 343 Industries team did not feel that it was the Halo launch they were looking for. It remains to be seen how this can affect the output Xbox X Series.

In addition, the head of Xbox revealed that they had been considering bringing Halo Infinite to the market in an episodic format. He and Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries, and Matt Booty of Xbox Game Studios discussed this possibility but ultimately ruled it out. Spencer also spoke of the team’s health being a determining factor in making the decision to delay the game.

Although the new instalment of Master Chief will not come with Xbox Series X, Microsoft wanted to show chest and published a complete list of the games that will arrive with the launch of the new console, both new games and some already launched but re-optimized for it. In fact, one of Microsoft’s bombshells for the future is the launch of a new Fable, of which there is already a lot of speculation.
