Marvel’s Avengers: 22 Unlockable Heroes According To Dataminers [VIDEO]

Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal‘s game’s plans were unveiled prematurely – that’s what they get if a multiplatform title gets a PC version…

On Reddit, we can read that Marvel’s Avengers’ PC files were analysed, and because of it, we might have learned which characters will be playable in the game that is going to be set in the Disney-owned Marvel universe of superheroes.

The prefix for the characters was UnlockPlayableCharacer_, and they are the following: Ant-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Falcon, Hawkeye (previously confirmed), Hulk, Hulkbuster, Iron-Man, Kamala, Kate Bishop, Mar-Vell, Mockingbird, Quake, Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk, Thor, Vision, War Machine, Wasp, Black Widow, Winter Soldier. A few characters are somewhat redundant on this list (for example, Hulkbuster can be acquired via a character upgrade, but it might be a separate unlock…), and Mar-Vell and Captain Marvel both on the list mean they could be separate versions of the same person.

Another Reddit user found more references to other characters in the game code. They would be Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, Kate Bishop, War Machine, and… Peter Parker? Hold on, that’s interesting. Don’t forget that Spider-Man will be exclusive to the two PlayStation consoles, so it could be Miles Morales on Sony’s side, while the other players (Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, Google Stadia) will receive Peter Parker. It’s plausible, but it’s just us guessing at the moment.

So Square Enix‘s heavily live service game (you’ll need a constant Internet connection to play the game, and if you play on PC, you will also get unnecessary Denuvo on top of it, as the publisher seems to adore this DRM…) will launch on September 4 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC. The PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X will receive Marvel’s Avengers as a launch title (possibly in November).
