CD Projekt RED‘s game is not at its first big update yet (which will arrive in January), but Cyberpunk 2077 starts to get off the ground on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
You can see two comparison videos below, and each video focuses on one console family. The first one features the Xbox One side by side with the Xbox One X, the Xbox Series S, and the Xbox Series X. The second video had the PlayStation 4 performance compared with the PlayStation 4 Pro and the PlayStation 5.
The results look quite promising: the car chase scene seen at the start of the Nomad life path had its average frame rate doubled from 15 frames per second to a nearly stable 30 on the Xbox One X. The base Xbox One also saw a near 100% increase, going from 11-12 FPS (which is pretty bad) to 21-22. The Polish team’s first-person perspective RPG‘s resolution also increased: the base Xbox One moves dynamically between 720p and 900p, and the Xbox One X moves between 1224p and 1368p. Unfortunately, there isn’t a big improvement on the PlayStation side, but the base PlayStation 4 seems to be much clearer than before.
There’s also a glitch video you have to see – it perfectly recreates the rollercoaster of Cyberpunk 2077 – CD Projekt RED’s game, which was announced in 2012, but was in main development since 2016, has had its highs and many lows. The player in the video crashes that triggers the appearance of the police, but after running back to the vehicle, the physics go out of order, an NPC gets out of a car on its side, and the ending of the video is explosive.
Nothing more can recap what Cyberpunk 2077’s current state is. But the console performance is slowly improving, and it looks promising.
Just another lovely morning in night city from r/cyberpunkgame
