Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Showed Up After A Long Silence

One of the upcoming Ninja Theory‘s games showed signs of life after a long silence.

Ninja Theory is one of the studios that Microsoft has acquired to expand its Xbox Game Studios – which will shortly be joined by Zenimax, which itself owns Bethesda and all the studios under it. when the acquisition is completed. They are mainly developing the sequel of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice called Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. It was announced at 2019 The Game Awards, where the first video of the game was allegedly running on an Xbox Series X, although it isn’t representative of the final product as things can change over time, plus it wasn’t necessarily gameplay, to begin with.

However, the team then went silent about the game, and the coronavirus global pandemic didn’t help matters either. But now, Ninja Theory showed up on Twitter with an image that got the following caption: „Here’s a cinematic lighting experiment for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.” The image shows Senua wearing the same „make-up” as in the announcement trailer.

This image doesn’t give us many details about the upcoming game, but we previously learned that it will be set on Iceland, and its size will be several times bigger than the prequel, as Senua can travel „hundreds of miles seamlessly across Iceland.” We still have yet to see how much of a role will mental illnesses play in the gameplay, as Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice emphasised psychosis throughout the plot, making the game unique.

If we’re lucky, we’ll hear about the game this year during E3, which is reportedly going digital. Xbox wouldn’t skip the opportunity, and if it does go through in this new format, then we might see some gameplay of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, which is coming to Xbox Series and PC. Xbox One? We’re not so sure about that…
