Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2: Development Runs Into A Dead End!

What on Earth is happening to all the games that have the number 2 in their titles…?

Think about it: we can instantly name three games that are the second main instalment in the series, and they all have some issues in development. Dead Island 2 (which is slowly becoming the new-age Duke Nukem Forever…), Dying Light 2 (which we will discuss later today…), and now, there is news about Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.

Paradox Interactive will be the publisher of the sequel of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, which launched a good sixteen years ago by now. They wrote the following in their end-of-the-year report: „For us, our games must be well received by the players, so we always choose, if possible, to give our development studios the time required to achieve our quality goals.

This also affects the development of Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, where we communicated a delay during the third quarter of 2020. We have now chosen to postpone the release of the game further, and we will not be launching the game in 2021. We have also decided that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be leading the development of Bloodlines 2, and we have started a collaboration with a new studio partner to finish work on the game. This has been a difficult decision, but we are convinced that it is the right way forward to do the game justice,” Ebba Ljungerud, the CEO of Paradox Interactive, wrote.

The game has been delayed indefinitely, which means it’s not coming out this year. The pre-orders have all been stopped, and the game should be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (everywhere, not limited to one store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. However, at this point, we should potentially rule out the PlayStation 4/Xbox One ports for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. But who could be the new developer to wrap up the work…?

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
