Xbox Series: Several Electronic Arts Games Got 120 FPS Support

The Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S (given you have a proper display for either of them) can provide better frame rates in multiple games published by Electronic Arts.

With the help of FPS Boost, more and more games are capable of running faster than sixty frames per second, so in case you hook your new Xbox to a 144 Hz display, then you will notice somewhat of a better, more fluid performance than before, as our eyes are not noticing the change that much.

These games received 120 FPS support: Battlefield 4, Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, Titanfall, Titanfall 2, Star Wars: Battlefront, Star Wars: Battlefront II, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, and Unravel Two.

But the option is not enabled by default in each game! These are the exceptions: Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, Star Wars: Battlefront II, Titanfall 2, and Unravel Two all require you to enable FPS Boost on your own. With the Xbox Series S, the list of 120 FPS titles are cut back. These games will hit that frame rate, though: Battlefield 4, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, Star Wars: Battlefront, Titanfall 2, and Unravel Two are ready to go on the smaller Xbox.

If it’s a game where it’s not turned on by default, then it involved Xbox engineers to decrease the rendering resolution of the game to allow the higher frame rate. It’s mostly with newer games. Head to the Compatibility options tab under Manage game and add-ons setting to enable FPS Boost on the games previously mentioned.

Also, Sea of Solitude, an EA Originals title, got a boost: instead of running at 30 FPS, it is now capable of hitting sixty frames per second.
