Resident Evil: Village: Beware, The Game Is Leaking

Resident Evil 8 is one of those games that didn’t get through manufacturing without leaking some copies out…

Resident Evil: Village, according to what we see on the Microsoft Store, is going to be 50.02 gigabytes on Xbox One and Xbox Series. However, we have to point out that this size includes two games. According to the site, Ethan’s Eastern European story is going to need about 35 gigabytes, while the other game, Resident Evil: Re:Verse (which, according to Capcom, is worthy to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary), the multiplayer title is going to take about 15 GB of space.

Even if we look at just the 35 gigs, that size is still significantly bigger than Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, which needed about 20.21 GB on Xbox One and 20.7 gigabytes on PlayStation 4, respectively. Sure, the new console generation allows bigger resolution textures to be used, so this somewhat explains the growth in the sequel’s size.

Let’s get back to the size a bit: Kaiser499 showed on Twitter that they somehow got a copy of Resident Evil: Village on PlayStation 5 (probably due to the leaks in Australia). According to the user, the base version of the game (V.1.00.000) requires about 27.37 GB on the PlayStation 5’s SSD. That’s much smaller than say, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone combined. Still, keep an eye on the Internet for the next two weeks, as the game might face some significant leaks. We’ll try to dodge the subject as much as we can.

Resident Evil: Village (and Resident Evil: Re:Verse, as you can’t get Village without it) will launch on May 7 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
