FPS Boost: Microsoft Claims That 97 Games Support Higher Frame Rates!

The Redmond-based company isn’t joking: in less than two weeks, they effectively quadrupled the number of titles that are supported!

We aren’t joking either: April 23 was the last time when Microsoft said that they support 23 games that allow the Xbox Series X on a 120 Hz capable display to reach 120 FPS in many games. Now, the list of games that are included in FPS Boost includes no less than 97 games.

These games are capable of 120 FPS with an Xbox Series X: Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Battlefield 1, Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline, Battlefield V, DiRT 4, Don’t Starve: Giant Edition, Golf with your Friends, Halo: Spartan Assault, Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition, Hyperscape, Island Saver, LEGO Marvel Superheroes, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, LEGO The Hobbit, Mad Max, Metro 2033 Redux, Metro: Last Light Redux, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Moving Out, My Friend Pedro, New Super Lucky’s Tale, Overcooked! 2, Paladins, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2, Plants vs. Zombie: Battle for Neighborville, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, Realm Royale, SMITE, Star Wars Battlefront, Star Wars Battlefront II, Super Lucky’s Tale, Superhot, The Gardens Between, The LEGO Movie Videogame, Titanfall, Titanfall 2, Totally Reliable Delivery Service, Unravel Two, Unruly Heroes, Untitled Goose Game.

These titles are capable of 120 FPS on an Xbox Series S: Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline, Don’t Starve: Giant Edition, Golf with your Friends, Halo: Spartan Assault, Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition, Hyperscape, Island Saver, Metro 2033 Redux, Metro: Last Light Redux, Moving Out, My Friend Pedro, New Super Lucky’s Tale, Overcooked! 2, Paladins, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2, Plants vs. Zombie: Battle for Neighborville, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, Realm Royale, SMITE, Star Wars Battlefront, Super Lucky’s Tale, Superhot, The LEGO Movie Videogame, Titanfall 2, Totally Reliable Delivery Service, Unravel Two, Unruly Heroes, Untitled Goose Game.

60 Hz can be reached with an Xbox Series X in the following titles: Alien Isolation, Anthem, Assassin’s Creed III Remastered, Assassin’s Creed Rogue: Remastered, Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Beholder Complete Edition, Dead Island Definitive Edition, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Dishonored – Definitive Edition, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Dragon Age Inquisition, Dungeon Defenders II, Dying Light, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn, Far Cry Primal, Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, Homefront: The Revolution, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, Lego Jurassic World, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, LEGO The Incredibles, LEGO Worlds, Life is Strange, Life is Strange 2, Lords of the Fallen, Monster Energy Supercross 3, My Time at Portia, Prey, ReCore, Sea of Solitude, Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Shadow Warrior 2, Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition, Sniper Elite 4, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, The Evil Within 2, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame, Tom Clancy’s The Division, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Two Point Hospital, UFC 4, Wasteland 3, Watch Dogs 2, Watch_Dogs, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.

And the Xbox Series S can pull it off in these games: Alien Isolation, Assassin’s Creed III Remastered, Assassin’s Creed Rogue: Remastered, Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Beholder Complete Edition, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Dishonored – Definitive Edition, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Dragon Age Inquisition, Dungeon Defenders II, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn, Far Cry Primal, Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, Homefront: The Revolution, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, Lego Jurassic World, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, LEGO Marvel Superheroes, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, LEGO The Hobbit, LEGO The Incredibles, Life is Strange, Lords of the Fallen, Mad Max, Monster Energy Supercross 3, MotoGP 20, My Time at Portia, Prey, ReCore, Sea of Solitude, Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition, Sniper Elite 4, Steep, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, The Evil Within 2, The Gardens Between, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame, Tom Clancy’s The Division, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Two Point Hospital, UFC 4, Wasteland 3, Watch Dogs 2, Watch_Dogs, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.

On Xbox Series X, there’s no FPS Boost for MotoGP 20 and Steep for some reason, while the Xbox Series S has it. The smaller Xbox on the other hand doesn’t support the feature in these games: Anthem, Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, Dead Island Definitive Edition, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition, DiRT 4, Dying Light, LEGO Worlds, Life is Strange 2, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Shadow Warrior 2, Star Wars Battlefront II, Titanfall.

And finally, here’s the list of games that have FPS Boost OFF by default: Anthem, Assassin’s Creed III Remastered, Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn, Gears of War 4, Homefront: The Revolution, Hyperscape, Monster Energy Supercross 3, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, Smite, Star Wars Battlefront II, The Evil Within 2, Titanfall 2, Unravel Two, Wasteland 3. Xbox’ engineers had to modify the game code for these.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
