Matrix 4: Actress Christina Ricci Joins Keanu Reeves in the Cast

MOVIE NEWS – Matrix 4 will feature a plethora of stars, as it was revealed this week that actress Christina Ricci will join Keanu Reeves and Carie-Anne Moss in the film’s cast.

Christina Ricci is set to star in the highly anticipated Matrix 4. Warner Bros. had been keeping the surprise casting under wraps until now, but the actress’ name was revealed in a recent press kit released by the studio. Christina Ricci was first seen at a young age in The Adams Family, where she played the role of Wednesday. She has since appeared in numerous films such as Sleepy Hollow and Monster.

It is not yet known what role the 41-year-old actress will play in the film. Director Lana Wachowski and the actors are keeping a tight lid on this new Matrix film, which nobody expected. The last film released in 2003 seemed to conclude the franchise definitively. Since the announcement of Matrix 4, fans have been asking themselves many questions.

Matrix 4: a 5-star cast

Keanu Reeves will be back in the film, while his character Neo is supposed to have died at the end of Matrix 3. But some fans believe that his resurrection was part of the Oracle’s plan.

Reeves won’t be the only one making a return to the franchise. Alongside him will be other former actors from the trilogy such as Carie-Anne Moss, Lambert Wilson and Jada Pinkett-Smith. Unfortunately, Laurence Fishburne, who played the charismatic Morpheus, will not be in the film. The film will nevertheless welcome Neil Patrick Harris (How I met your mother), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman) and Priyanka Chopra (Quantico).

While the entire cast seems to have been revealed, the plot of Matrix 4 remains a mystery. Warner Bros. has not even revealed the title of the film. But a make-up artist is said to have posted it by mistake on Instagram. The post was quickly deleted, but if it was indeed a leak, the film will be called Matrix: Resurrection.

Despite the pandemic and health constraints, filming for the sequel was completed last December. Warner Bros. has therefore managed to bring forward the release date of Matrix 4, which had been pushed back to 2022. The film will finally be released on 22 December 2021.
