Rumour Mill: is Dead Space And Quake Coming Back?

We have heard about three studios that they might be up to. Let’s recap it all.

id Software might be working on a Quake reboot, Shpeshal Nick, the founder of the Xbox Era podcast, claims. The studio would be getting some help from MachineGames (who are supposedly developing Wolfenstein III, as well as a game based on the Indiana Jones IP). The new Quake would feature both single-, and multiplayer modes, with the protagonist being a female character. This person has previously correctly known about the April PlayStation Plus lineup along with Hades joining Xbox Game Pass.

Dead Space could also be resurrected. However, it wouldn’t be handled by Visceral Games, as Electronic Arts shut them down years ago. Instead, Motive would be helming this project, and the publisher is planning to reveal the game on EA Play Live, which is going to be held on July 22, VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb said during the GamesBeat Decides podcast. However, here, other people joined the fun: Eurogamer corroborated the story, and even Gematsu has heard about Dead Space facing a comeback, but it would be a reimagining instead of continuing the sequel. Dead Space 3 launched eight years ago, and it flopped due to trying to compete with Call of Duty…

Let’s also talk about Warner Bros. Games Montreal. Their job listing reveals they are developing an open-world, third-person action title, and it’s unlikely to be Gotham Knights. ResetEra brought attention to what James Sigfield, a leaker has been tweeting. This person (who previously correctly knew about Gotham Knights, plus Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad) tweeted a Superman GIF, plus he has discussed the merits of a new Superman game with others that got liked by Patrick Redding, the creative director of WB Montreal. It doesn’t sound like a coincidence. Oh, and since the launch of Superman Returns, fifteen years have passed. It’s about time for a comeback.

As always, none of this is official yet, but signs point to credibility…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
