Halo Infinite: The Story’s Elements Are Leaking

Attention: some story beats of the new Halo Infinite game might show up here and there. There will also be bots, but it doesn’t hurt us to name a few of them.

On Twitter, Joseph Staten, the creative lead of 343 Industries (who happen to develop Halo Infinite), has confirmed that the leaks do exist: “Hey folks, [a] heads up: we unintentionally included a small number of Halo Infinite campaign files in the tech preview build. Unfortunately, these files contain spoilers. Leaks like this are painful for the dev team and can ruin the campaign experience for everyone. So please, keep your eyes peeled for spoilers and don’t spread them if you see them.”

So yes, the technical test build of the game, which is a multiplayer-only test, did have some unintentional extras in it. However, we should also mention what Brian Jarrard, the community director of Halo, also added on Twitter: “IMPORTANT: Please don’t post data-mined content to your channels! You run a very real risk of getting a takedown notice, which could result in a strike on certain platforms. If you have already posted content, we recommend removing it from your channel proactively.” He mainly meant social platforms, such as Twitter or YouTube, as these two do have DMCA removals.

Halo Infinite will include bots, too. It’s crucial, as it’s a first in the franchise outside the Firefight mode that debuted in Halo ODST and another game mode in Halo 5 called Warzone. So if you want to play Capture the Flag with the AI, you can do it with no problem. The bots will have distinct names.

They all have 343 in their names to identify them, but they have some… interesting choices. The philosophers and historical figures include Parfit, Locke, Hume, Aloysius, and Hobbes. The foods and movies that might also be completely different references have Nando, Cream Corn, Godfather, Darkstar, Meowlnir, and Salt Baron. And a few more: Free Money, Ritzy, Beard, and Hundy.

Halo Infinite will be one of the critical game launches this autumn on Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC.
