Swordman 3: a new Chinese game that’s like Tiger and Dragon

Swordman 3: Xie Yun Liu Zhuan is another adventure that stands out among Chinese games. At first glance, it certainly looks promising.

The video game industry is growing by leaps and bounds in China, as is the country’s tech sector as a whole. And in just the past few years, we’ve seen everything from record-breaking games on Steam after their early access release to adventure games in development, such as Black Myth: Wukong, preceded by high expectations. And now it’s time to talk about another title that has yet to be released but looks very promising. It’s Swordman 3: Xie Yun Liu Chuan, aka Swordman 3: The Legend of Xie Yun Liu.

Admittedly, Chinese is not our strong point, but video games are. And what developer Seasun is showing us here is something that looks very good while it’s honest. Great action sequences and cliffs are jumping, towering mountains and steep paths, snowy meadows and bamboo forests populated by enemies waiting to duel…

Indeed, how the game allows you to use the environment to move and fight, especially the trees, is remarkable, in a manner worthy of the classic “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon“. And yes, you can jump on a bamboo pole to propel yourself or fly over enemies while swinging swords in all directions, just like in a martial arts action movie.

It’s not yet known how much of the gameplay is realistic and a spectacle that raises expectations. Still, there’s little doubt that the video will win over many fans eager to learn more about the title. Swordman: Xie Yun Liu Chuan is in development for PC and consoles, says st at Daniel Ahmad, an analyNiko Partners, although a release date is unknown.
