Men In Black Videogame In The Works!?

A Men In Black videogame entry was seen on EB GAMES Australia – with no official classification but stating Sony Bend as the developer.

Men In Black

Men in Black has been a franchise that fizzled out after the third movie, and the videogame adaptations of the games were always subpar. With all three movie-tie in games, pretty much got under a 50% rating.  Besides the movies, the only spin-off media that was good was an old cartoon show that expanded the lore of the Men in Black Franchise.

It has been confirmed that Sony Bend is not working on a sequel to Days Gone and that several ideas have been rejected, plus studio leads have left the company. With this game rumour, though, the question remains whether they will go with the fun comedic tone of the first three movies or go with the original comic book version.

The original comic book version includes aliens and demons, supernatural foes, legendary creatures, and much more brutal and horroristic in tone. This might actually fit in with Sony’s cinematic action games and provide a new vision for the franchise. Especially since Men in Black: International was considered a failure, maybe a more realistic / horror style would allow for a reboot in games and the movies.

Hopefully, with the 9th of September’s Sony showcase, we will know more if this rumour is true.
