Nicolas Cage Bald, Bearded And Brutal In The First Photo Of Butcher’s Crossing

Nicolas Cage looks quite the badass in a new photo from the upcoming western film Butcher’s Crossing. And it’s just one of the brilliant films when the star is set to playing.

Nicolas Cage gives us a taste of his decisive lead role in the upcoming western Butcher’s Crossing. The actor has shared a picture of his character, a buffalo hunter named Miller, and he looks very different from what audiences are used to a shaved head, beard and a pair of haggard, tired eyes that look like they’ve seen some things.

A bald, bearded, buffalo hunter Nicolas Cage looks exactly what cinema needs right now. Filming for Butcher’s Crossing is currently underway in Montana. From the looks of the image, Cage seems to be showing audiences his unique talents once again, and the actor’s appearance suggests he may be on the “award-winning” end of the Cage line-up, rather than the… weaker end.

Butcher’s Crossing, based on the 1960 transcendentalist novel by John Edward Williams, tells the story of a young Harvard dropout who seeks his destiny in the West and finds himself tied to a buffalo hunting team led by Miller, played by Cage. Together they embark on a harrowing journey, risking life and limb as the group must face and survive the brutal realities of the outdoors while trying to obtain buffalo hides for sale. Along the way, they reflect on the purpose of their lives in the face of nature’s intentions.

Butcher’s Crossing is directed by Gabe Polsky, who is adapting the novel alongside Liam Satre-Meloy. “It’s a compelling story with timeless themes – a visceral journey that explores the limits of human nature,” said Polsky. “Nic Cage is one of the most dynamic and interesting actors, and it’s thrilling that he has taken on this brilliant role”.

“Altitude is incredibly excited about the Cannes premiere of Butcher’s Crossing,” added Will Clarke of Altitude Film Entertainment. “John Williams’ story is stunningly cinematic, and Gabe’s vision for the film is a perfect fit. Plus, it’s fantastic to be working with the legendary Nick Cage, whose passion and appeal are second to none.”

Butcher’s Crossing is just one of many intriguing projects Nic Cage is working on, all of which seem tailor-made for the actor’s talents. Cage has recently delivered two very different but equally grim performances in the critically acclaimed Prisoners of Ghostland and The Pig. Both films admirably showcase Cage’s ability to bounce between the wonderfully ridiculous and the more prestigious and nail both.

Nicolas Cage will soon be starring in a film in which he somehow manages to do both, as he teams up with director Tom Gormican in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. The story has him playing a fictional version of Cage, well, Nicolas Cage, who reluctantly has to accept a $1 million offer to attend a Mexican billionaire superfan’s birthday party. When things take a wild turn, Nic is forced to become a version of one of his most iconic and beloved characters to free his wife and daughter from the clutches of his fan, a notorious drug lord.

Now is the time to get real for Nicolas Cage fans.
