This cancelled Batman game would have starred Damian Wayne, the current Robin of the comics.

Putting Gotham Knights together was far from easy. Before the project’s launch, the original plan was to continue the Batman: Arkham universe and focus on Damian Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, who currently wears the mantle of Robin in the DCU comics. The idea hasn’t caught on enough to go public, but there have been several visual designs.

Several of these were shown to readers at the time, featuring the game’s villains such as Two-Face, Poison Ivy and Black Mask, and Dick Grayson in civilian clothes and some of Gotham’s set pieces. Now, a new batch of concept art shows us what an ageing Batman might have looked like, as well as Damian Wayne himself, whose appearance was heavily influenced by Terry McGinnis (Batman Beyond).

The videogame, codenamed Project Sabbath, was never officially announced and the reasons for its cancellation are unknown. However, it is speculated that after the collaboration with Rocksteady ended, the studio was interested in rebooting the IP.

Gotham Knights is scheduled to be released next year as an open-world co-op game featuring four members of the bat family: Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood and Robin (Tim Drake), leaving out the aforementioned Damian Wayne.

"Project Sabbath", a canceled Damian Wayne Batman game at WB Games Montreal, apparently has another wave of concept art revealed – this time by concept artist Goran Bukvic. The images match how the game was first described years ago.
