Jump Force Will Soon Disappear from Digital Stores and Close Its Servers

This decision will affect the purchase of the base game, DLCs and virtual currency on all platforms.

Jump Force seemed to be the dream of every video game and anime fan, but this illusion was shattered shortly after its official release by the criticism the game received. Despite the heavy blow, developer Spike Chunsoft tried to revive the fighting game with a good dose of content, but in November they finally decided enough was enough. They set a date to shut down the servers and warned everyone of their future withdrawal from digital stores.

Bandai Namco wanted to remind gamers of the upcoming event and reiterated that tomorrow, February 8th, Jump Force will no longer be available for purchase in digital. This news will become reality in Hungary at 2:00 am, so there are only a few hours left to say goodbye to the game.

This will affect the base game, DLCs and virtual currency for PS4, Xbox One and PC, but the Nintendo Switch Deluxe Edition will also suffer the same fate. Bandai Namco, however, reiterates that the server shutdown will take place on August 25, and will disable all online mechanics for the title. As you might suspect, these new features will not prevent access to the title or individual games, so Jump Force users will be able to continue playing once the process is complete.

So Spike Chunsoft’s work has not gone as well as hoped. Despite having great potential and plenty of anime characters to play with, we wrote in our test that it ended up being far from the “essential fighting experience” for all manga and anime fans.
