Elden Ring already has already been blatantly copied by ‘Eilon Ring’, but it doesn’t even look like Souls

Since Elden Ring had such a high-profile launch, it was only a matter of time before the first unoriginal copycats appeared…

Elden Ring has only been on the market for a few days, but its proposal is so powerful that it is still on many players’ lips. Many positive reviews and an impressive number of sales followed; therefore, Elden Ring’s fame continues to grow over time. Unfortunately, this also attracts developers who take advantage of this success and create rather blatant imitations.

This is the case of Eilon Ring, a mobile game that, as shared by the well-known analyst Daniel Ahmad, has used promotional images remarkably similar to From Software’s title. It didn’t take a long time for the community to point out the existence of this imitation, which can be seen below these lines.

However, the most interesting thing is that the game doesn’t even resemble Elden Ring in terms of gameplay. Following on from the thread posted by Ahmad, it turns out that the title developed by Guiyun Cloud Network is a generic MMO that, as you can imagine, has taken advantage of Elden Ring’s fame to carve out a niche for itself in the industry.

It isn’t the first time we have seen similar situations. The practice has gone as far as blatantly copying trailers, as we have seen with the plagiarism of Final Fantasy: Shadowbringers. We can take some cases as a joke, as was the case with a game too similar to God of War that surprised even Cory Barlog. However, this kind of copying can ruin a small studio’s career, which is why the creators of Unpacking went to great lengths to have plagiarism removed from the mobile shops.
