Jeff Ross Joins Crystal Dynamics – What’s The Mystery Project They’re Working On? [VIDEO]

Jeff Ross, best known as the developer of Days Gone, celebrated his partnership with the Tomb Raider developers via his Twitter account and made other exciting announcements.

The Rise of the Tomb Raider and Marvel’s Avengers studios have added a valuable addition to their ranks: Days Gone director Jeff Ross announced on his Twitter account that he is joining Crystal Dynamics while also sharing a job offer from the Square Enix-owned studio, which includes around fifty positions.

Ross joins Crystal Dynamics as Design Director

Ross confirmed that he will take on the role of design director at the studio, although he did not give any more details about the project he is working on: “That’s all I can say other than I’m thrilled with the project, and especially the team of really wonderful people.” Ross took the opportunity to share his plans to move to Seattle this summer and encouraged his fans to come work with him.

In recent months, Jeff Ross has been in the news several times after confessing his plans for Days Gone, a game that the former Bend Studio member would expand into a trilogy, with the sequel focusing on developing the narrative and mechanics, as well as further developing the open world. Ross also talked about the reboot of the acclaimed Syphon Filter franchise, which was reportedly already on the table.

Meanwhile, today’s State of Unreal 2022 brought some interesting news, such as the new Tomb Raider, which we learned will be built in Unreal Engine 5. Crystal Dynamics is making the game, but the studio has yet to release any images of what we’ll find in Lara Croft’s new adventures. While it’s unlikely that this is the project Jeff Ross was referring to, it’s possible that they’ll be counting on his input on this one.
