Next-Gen Version Of Inquisitor – Martyr Is Coming With Lots Of New Features! [VIDEO]

Neocore Games has announced a new trailer for Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr, which will be released on next-gen consoles in the future.

NeocoreGames has announced that a next-gen version of Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr is in the works. The action RPG was initially released in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and is generally considered a pretty solid Diablo clone – especially since it’s not as buggy as it was when it first launched.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr is set in the 41st century in the Caligari sector. Players take on the role of an Inquisitor, tasked with rooting out and hunting down rebels and dissidents who seek to oppose the rule of the God-Emperor while serving alien races or outright gods of Chaos. The game offers a rich solo campaign, or players can choose to team up with three other players in cooperative mode.

As we learned at the Warhammer Skulls video game event, Inquisitor – Martyr PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X/S will be released in 2022.

The update will include several new features to take advantage of the increased power of the latest console generation. As with previous PS5 and Xbox Series X cross-gen titles, the game will boast native 4K output, as well as higher resolution textures and enhanced shadows, perfect for showcasing high-intensity action.

The enhanced version will also come with improved physics, including improvements to destructible environments. Players who are planning to purchase the game for PlayStation 5 will also be able to take advantage of the DualSense controller features. Players who own the new systems will be able to play in a cross-gen multiplayer mode with teammates, though it’s unclear if this will extend to cross-play.

At this time, neither Neocore Games nor publisher Nacon have confirmed whether Inquisitor will be a free next-gen update or if players will have to pay for the new version.

Fans of action RPGs will be eagerly waiting to see if all of the 25(!) previous downloadable add-ons will be included in the repackaged version.

In any case, we already know that the upcoming Sororitas character class DLC announced last year would be included in the latest version of Inquisitor. While the release date for the DLC is not yet known, the addition will bring a new Inquisitor class into the fray that specializes in the Adepta Sororitas background. The expected DLC will also offer new class mechanics and item types.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr will be released in 2022 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
