It Seems M. Night Shyamalan Has Finished Shooting His Next Film

MOVIE NEWS – M. Night Shyamalan has announced the completion of his next film, which also stars Dave Bautista and Rupert Grint.

It seems that filming on Knock at the Cabin has been completed. However, not much has been revealed about M. Night Shyamalan’s next feature film. Shyamalan is usually reticent to reveal plot details of his movies before they are released, but Knock at the Cabin is described as a four-wall-breaking horror film set during the apocalypse.

Knock at the Cabin has an excellent cast.

Alongside Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Blade Runner 2049), the cast includes Rupert Grint (Harry Potter, Servant), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Old, The Outfit), Ben Aldridge (Pennyworth, Fleabag) and Jonathan Groff (Mindhunter, The Matrix Resurrections). When it came to choosing the lead actor, Shyamalan knew he had to go with Bautista based on his performance in Blade Runner 2049.

“I was really taken by what Denis [Villeneuve] and Dave [Bautista] did in that scene in Blade Runner [2049]. He was still in a way that was powerful,” Shyamalan previously told THR.

“There’s a type of stillness where you’re not doing nothing; you’re doing everything and you’re still. Every cell in your body will do what it’s supposed to do if you’re thinking something correctly. And Dave was embodying all of this philosophy in that scene … I didn’t know who he was at that time, and he stuck in my head. So when this script came, I was like, ‘There seems to be one guy who can play this giant human being and do the stillness.’ So I asked Dave.”

Revealing that writing this particular script was a piece of cake, for better or worse, Shyamalan added: “I don’t know what this means, so it’ll be interesting to see at the end of it all, but it’s the fastest script I’ve ever written. Signs was the fastest script that I wrote before this. I don’t know if that’s to do with the engine, the movement of it, but we’ll see. I’ve enjoyed it so much, and it’s very emotional.”

Shyamalan’s last film, Old, was received with mixed reviews, so it’s time for the master of thought-provoking and harrowing films to create another masterpiece.

Universal Pictures will release Knock at the Cabin on 3 February 2023.
